Are you ready? Scrapfreak's second free online class will start June 1st! This month we will be doing an altered canvas with a cool masking tape transfer technique.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v352/smbogan2001/Freak/IMG_1288web.jpg

Class Description
This month's Project Freak class will feature a masking tape transfer technique on an altered canvas. You will choose the size of your canvas, the theme, and your supplies, and then use the transfer technique on your canvas. Transfer techniques are fun and the possibilities are endless. You can transfer photos, papers, images, words, etc. It gives a very cool look to your project.

Featured Product
For the transfer technique, I used GOLDEN Gel Medium (it will be available in the store soon). I used the Grafton line from Scenic Route (http://www.scrapfreak.com/store/manufacturers.php?manufacturerid=11) for my canvas. I thought it was great for a masculine look. For my embellishments, I used some Cinnamon Stickles (http://www.scrapfreak.com/store/product.php?productid=358&cat=24&page=1) and Scenic Route Chipboard Star Shapes (http://www.scrapfreak.com/store/product.php?productid=350&cat=12&page=4).

Overview of the Class

Week 1: Brainstorm!
What kind of canvas do you want to make? Who is it for... yourself or a gift? Where will it be displayed?

Week 2: Get Your Supplies Ready!
Choose what size canvas you want and get your papers and embellies.

Week 3: Masking Tape Transfer Technique!
I will teach a very cool masking tape transfer technique that you can use on your canvas and future projects.

Week 4: Finish It Up!
The last week is to finish up your canvas and post it in your gallery so we can see your awesome work!

I can't wait for this class to get started and see everyone's take on the class. Interested? Go sign up here (http://www.scrapfreak.com/forum/showthread.php?p=439499#post439499)!

Don't be scared PLEASE!!! We'll break this down and I provide step-by-step instructions with photos. I don't want anyone to not participate because they're scared. You can do a small size canvas to start if that makes you feel better. :)

Hmmm, dunno. It's called GOLDEN Gel Medium: Regular Gel (Matte). When is the WI crop again? Could you get it when you're in the states?

Crop is the 27 - 29. So the canvas wouldn't get finished in June. But if it is my last option, then that will have to do. I'm gonna look it up on line. What does it do?

Shannon

ChickieShannon

It transfers the image of whatever you put it on onto the canvas.

Tamara
05-29-2008, 02:09 PM
I googled it. Doesn't look too promising for me. So I might have to see what I can do about it while in the states.

Sounds very exciting to play with. :giggle:

I can't tell what you what you SHOULD do. It's seriously up to you and there's no right or wrong. If it helps, look at sketches like PageMaps. Lay out your pics and supplies and think of your canvas like a scrapbook page. Does that help? :)
