Scrapfreak's first free online class will start May 1st! This class, title "I have always..." is a mini-album class exploring who you are as a person.

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g232/jbree22/P1010006-6.jpg

Class Description
Often, when you think about who you are as an adult - your strengths, habits, values and quirks - you'll find that many of these things can be traced back to childhood or adolescence. In this class, you will explore just that...what are those patterns of your personality that are inherently true about you.

This class will offer you prompts and questions to help you think about what makes YOU uniquely YOU. Its a fun way to explore who you are and document it for future generations.

**NOTE: you are free to adapt this class if you prefer to not scrap about you. Document the quirks, habits and values of a loved one! It will make a great gift. I am thinking of making one for my dog Seven! :D **

Featured Product
For this first class, I have chosen to use two different Cosmo Cricket black board books. I used Abby and Ethan as shown in the picture below but you're more than welcome to use any of different book combinations for your album. The book alternates between two books, using the smaller pages for the titles and larger pages for the photos and journaling. I also used a wide mix of papers and embellishments from my stash.

Overview of the Class

Week 1: Brainstorm!
Each day of the week I will post new prompts - questions and ideas to help you come up with ideas for your mini-album.

Week 2: Pictures
The second week will be all about finding that perfect picture for each topic in your book. Not every page has to have a picture. I chose to use a lot of older pics of me as child.

Week 3: Format & Product
In week 3, we start scrapping! Select the format you plan to use, either like me or something totally different, and gather the products you want to use in your book. And start putting those pages together.

Week 4: Finish It Up
Week 4 is all about getting the book assembled and embellished.

Think you want to play? Check out the sign-up thread and see who else is playing!

Actually on those pages, half were covered, half were not. It didn't bug me either way. If I covered the holes, then I just repunched the two I needed. But otherwise, no hard in an extra hole. Think of it as a book piercing :D

i have to figure out which mini album i want to use... i only have one blackboard book so I don't think I can be as cool as bree... then I have to figure out what colors I want so I can pick patterned papers from DIFFERENT manufacturers :faint: and then I have to also mix embellishments!

I am thinking of using my Maya Road Sheer Tab Album (http://www.scrapfreak.com/store/product.php?productid=460&cat=0&page=2). Can I use regular adhesive on it?

jessicabree

Of course! I mean if you made an album about a totally different topic that might be a bit odd, but any format goes. You decide what to put in yours. You can make it about your or someone else. I am just providing ideas. NO RULES! :D

Very cool! For this first week, I want to get everyone thinking about what to put into the book, so you have a bit of time to choose your paper! :D

Yes Beffy.

Beffy
05-01-2008, 06:18 PM
ummmm
Miss Bree
is there gonna be a week to pick out pics? & pp? & all that?
so we should ONLY be thinking about these questions that have me stumped right now?
I dont need to be thinking about what pics I have that might go w/ whatever my answers are, right?

jessicabree
05-01-2008, 06:20 PM
Yes Beffy.

The plan is week 1 - questions that have Beffy stumped.
Week 2 - find pictures or take pics (and decide which pages will have no pics)
Week 3 - make a kit and start playing!
Week 4 - keep working on the pages and start posting if you can.

Someone can play ahead if they want. But I wanted to spread it out to make it easier and give everyone time. :D

Beffy
