Ignore/Buddy Lists

Anyone having trouble with this? Occasionally things have changed when I get back online and my buddies aren't my buddies.

how can you ignore someone

you go to User CP and click on buddy/ignore and add the username to the list.

it just skips over the posts and tells you they posted and that you aren't seeing it because you're ignoring them.

I can't even imagine having someone on ignore. I mean, if you don't agree with someone on something, wouldn't you just not comment and move on?

it is more relevant on much bigger boards. at scrapbook.com, there was a person who would come in and post totally random stuff that made no sense at all. i think eventually she was banned, but would come back under different screen names. she would post new threads and also comment randomly in other threads - it was easier just to ignore anything she wrote.

also, if someone posts things that you tend to disagree with and don't want to get into a heated argument (there is a lot of drama at most other sites!) then the ignore function can help you avoid getting into a tangle with them.

(same thing goes for buddies on bigger boards, too - so many people post and lots of new people each day, you don't have time to read everything. so if there are people you always have good conversations with or who scrap similar subjects or have similar interests or something, you could mark them as a buddy so that it is easier to find their posts)
