How do you use it? What is it for? I keep seeing it in stores but cannot ever remember using it at all growing up. It has a cool name?

Thanks for any help.

it's pretty much watered down elmers glue. :) It works for altering things. well, at least that's mostly what I use it for. I just spread it on with a little foam brush.

I also think it is fun. One of the things I liked about first grade is that the kids always needs help with their glue.

I pretty much use it just for altering as well. Love the glitter mod podge!

Not sure about the modpodge boogies though. lol

i made some coasters one time though and found through message boards that i couldn't coat it with modge podge as it is not waterproof and it would have turned to goo with the drink glasses on it. love it for other things though.

You can use the mod podge for adhering almost anything, and then if waterproofing is an issue, just use a varnish seal coat for the final coating!

Yep cause I've used it on coasters and then just sealed it!

I used it a lot for altered clipboards.

I just now used some on a clothespin I'm altering and realized I'm 1/2 way through the LARGE bottle I bought. Seems hard to believe, but I guess I do use it alot! Never used it on a paint can, but I've made several clipboards, now two clothespins (and two more to be made today), mini albums, etc. All good use for Mod Podge!

I love the stuff. Just hate waiting for it to dry while in the middle of a project.

I have used Diamond Glaze but from the sounds of it here, it is really different then the Modge Podge. :hmmm:

Amy

oh yeah - mod podge is - like I said before - basically just watered down elmer's glue. :)

I will be heading to my LSS this week so that I can get a paint can and another large paper clip and I will pick some up and give it a try.

Amy
05-21-2007, 05:12 PM
no no no...

go to wally world - seriously - in the craft section - in the glue area. it's WAY cheaper and the EXACT same stuff. :)

Tracy
05-21-2007, 05:14 PM
Ok! I will! But I have a confession..... Um, :whisper: I don't like Wally world.

Tamara
05-21-2007, 05:15 PM
And paint can....you can get cheaper at a hardware store. Do you have an Ace Hardware?

Tracy
05-21-2007, 05:22 PM
Paint cans are way cheap any my LSS. They are $2.99 for the gallon size. With the price of gas these days, an extra trip to a hardware store would make them more not less. lol

Amy
05-21-2007, 05:33 PM
well, I don't like WM either - where else do you have?

but I guess it's good to support the LSS too - mine closed. :(

Tracy
05-21-2007, 05:37 PM
Oh we have a Craft Warehouse. I will try them first. They should be cheaper. What does Modge Podge cost? That way I will know if it is high priced or right on target.

Laura
05-21-2007, 09:41 PM
I think it's like $3 to $5 for a big size bottle. It's been a while since I've bought it, but I know it was pretty cheap.

Tracy
05-21-2007, 10:46 PM
Thanks Laura! I will go tomorrow to get some.

Tamara
05-22-2007, 01:49 PM
Tracy, that is a great price for the paint can!

Tracy
05-25-2007, 09:53 AM
I thought so too. Its kinda funny because they charge more for the pint size can then they do for the gallon can.

I also use MP for altering items and then use it to cover paper on theme books and paint cans not only to waterproof them but to give them a more finished look!
